Itinerary for Source Events Gay Travel Adventure to Africa
Day 1: Monday – July 16, 2018
Non-stop International Flights Depart USA for Johannesburg, South Africa with connecting flight to Cape Town.
Day 2: Tuesday – July 17, 2018 – Arrive in Cape Town
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met and transferred to the 5 stars Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town’s iconic legendary luxury hotel.
Day 3: Wednesday – July 18, 2018 – Cape Town
Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful cities and a top international destination. Large volumes of tourist flock to Cape Town to enjoy this unique city with its fascinating history, interesting culture, natural beauty, award winning wines and laidback lifestyle. Enjoy a half-day city tour of Cape Town, including the cultural and scenic highlights like Table Mountain, visit Signal Hill with spectacular views, and The V&A Waterfront. In the evening, Source Events will be hosting a welcome dinner.

Day 4: Thursday – July 19, 2018 – Cape Town
Highlights of a trip down to Cape Point include one of the world’s most spectacular drives Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek Beach, curio stalls, the Cape Point Nature Reserve, Africa’s SW most lighthouse, the Boulders Penguin Colony, Simonstown, Kalk Bay and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Depart the hotel and flank the colder Atlantic Ocean en route to Hout Bay. Once a fishing community and now one of the most popular residential areas, the harbor still has the charm of days gone by. You’ll join the M.V “Circe” for a half hour cruise to “Seal Island”. The tour now continues over the famous Chapman’s Peak drive – if open, with a 200 meter drop on one side and a 200 meter rise on the other, as we make our way south, following the Atlantic Ocean until we reach Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope.

Day 5: Friday – July 20, 2018 – Cape Town
A full day tour exploring of the fabled Cape Wine region. From Cape Town make your way out into the picturesque winelands visiting South Africa’s most famous wine regions – Franschoek and Stellenbosch. It is easy to understand why Simon van der Stellenbosch decided to settle a village amongst the mountains. The backdrop of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, the white gabled Cape Dutch homesteads and the oak lined streets and lanes all blend in to give this place a charm that will not be quickly forgotten.

Day 6: Saturday – July 21, 2018 – Cape Town to Sabi Sands Game Reserve
After breakfast you will be transferred to airport for a flight to Skuzuza airport at the edge of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. For 3 nights enjoy spectacular safaris at the exclusive and luxurious Lion Sands River Lodge. River Lodge is situated in the southern section of the Sabi Sands. At River Lodge, you need not move far to appreciate extraordinary wildlife, or to marvel at the spectacular riverside view. The main lounge, bar, wine cellar and library are decorated in a true African Safari style, with some furnishings huddled around the fire place and the rest making full use of the open sided section, which becomes the extensive viewing deck. 20 spacious thatched rooms are connected to the main building by raised wooden walkways. Each Luxury suite is fully air-conditioned with mini bars, personal safes, satellite TV, telephones and DVD players. The en-suite bathrooms have double vanities, showers and large freestanding bathtubs with views of the river. If you would like to upgrade to the Superior Luxury suites, These are larger in size, ample bathrooms and outdoor showers. After lunch and settling in your room, you’ll be enjoying your first game drive in the bush.

Day 7 : Sunday – July 22, 2018 – Lion Sands River Lodge
Get ready for days filled with luxurious comforts and spectacular game viewing. Waking in the pale light of morning with a cup of coffee in hand…you’ll know you’ve arrived in the heart of old Africa. All guests will congregate in the late afternoon for “high tea” before embarking on your first open vehicle game drive under the guidance or your experienced ranger and tracker team in search of Africa’s famous wildlife. At sunset stop for sundowners to toast the end of another day in Africa, before continuing the safari after dark with the aid of powerful spotlights to, hopefully, glimpse some of the elusive nocturnal game.

Day 8 : Monday – July 23, 2018 – Lion Sands River Lodge
Enjoy the full days on safari. Your twice-daily safaris take place at dawn and dusk, when the bush is at its most active and chances of spotting game the best. Your experience ranger and tracker team will help you make the most of your time on safari through their extensive knowledge of the African savanna. The reserve is home to a wide variety of African game, including the “Big Five”, which are Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo.

Day 9: Tuesday – July 24, 2018 – Sabi Sands to Livingstone, Zambia
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Nelspruit for flight to Livingstone, Zambia. The Royal Livingstone at the Victoria Falls in Zambia is perfect for the discerning travelers in search of luxury, extravagance and indulgence. This iconic hotel is spectacularly set in a lush riverine environment and maintains an air of sophistication often associated with a bygone era. You’ll enjoy a spectacular sunset Zambezi River Cruise

Day 10: Wednesday – July 25, 2018 – Royal Livingstone
After breakfast, you will be met by a local guide for a walking tour of the Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side. A view of the Victoria Falls is something you will never forget and the best way to see them is on a guided tour. Discover how the Falls were formed and what local customs and traditions surround them. These tours are extremely informative and end with a visit to the local art and crafts center. In the afternoon enjoy an optional elephant back safari.
Day 11: Thursday – July 26, 2018 – Royal Livingstone
A day to enjoy everything that Victoria Falls and the Royal Livingston has to offer. If you’re feeling adventurous participate in optional excursions such as Micro Light flight, White Water rafting, Helicopter ride, a Lion encounter, or simply get a massage or just relax by the pool.
Day 12: Friday – July 27, 2018 – Livingstone, Zambia to Johannesburg or Optional Botswana Extension (Chobe Game Lodge)
After breakfast you will be transferred to Livingston Airport for flight to Johannesburg connecting to USA or optional extension to Botswana.
